Simon's paintings can be separated into two main areas: The Peak District work and the India & Morocco work.
Whichever you choose to view, you will experience an emotional journey as you see
how Simon explores ways in which he can capture the persona of his environment in terms of the painting process, and how this relates to his understanding and awareness.
There is an extensive range of materials and techniques used in order to explore feelings and thoughts. Found objects from particular locations emerge from the surface of the paintings this gives the work a greater sense of place as well as highly textured effect.
Simon lives and works in the Peak district and has regularly travelled to India and Morocco His work explores these terrains: physically, emotionally and psychologically. There is a deep personal understanding and connection with his environment and the people that inhabit it.
Simon's paintings are a celebration of life and show how an holistic approach can create new areas of innovation within the genre of painting.
