Simon Parkin's imagery reminds us of multiple journeys and multiple narratives. His passion for India is immediate with the way he paints, intense luminosity and deep colourful soul searching journeys.
In many ways, he is a nomadic traveller, experiencing different cultures, cultures that are familiar to us particularly the "Indian cultural experience" in the West. This soul searching journey is like an ongoing landmark of where the heart meets the mind. The verisimilitude of life and its many adventures often brings new ideas. Art, life, and ultimately making art and interpreting different cultures is the act of new knowledge. Our shared understanding of new and old cultures is what brings us together. We are at one, a unique reunion that only art and only the language of art will bring. In other words, a heart felt fusion of colour, the spark of life itself!
